North American Performance is a break away company from our Tier 1 parent company North American Assembly. The OEM auto industry where we have been an integral part of both personally and professionally has constrained some of our creativity. With our collective 150+ years of OEM engineering and manufacturing experience, primarily in air induction, we foresee developing and producing the premier aftermarket air induction systems ever.

     We saw that there are many choices already in the market but to be frank, they mostly fall short of the quality and innovation that we offer to the OEMs today. The vast majority of after-market systems on the market today do not come close to meeting OEM functional requirements nor standards that are second nature to us, including manufacturing process controls, grades of materials, validation / testing and durability. For example, our OEM systems utilize precision processes for tight tolerances such as injection molding using materials like robust glass filled nylon vs blow / rotary molding with polypropylene mainly used in the toy industry.

     For 25 yrs. we have met the stringent OEM’s demand on us to design and build systems with extensive surface appearance process that specify texture, gloss, color and stringent requirements on parting lines and flash as well as a design life of 150,000 miles. Though all the systems we have designed and produced for the OEM’s will meet the life of the vehicle, they lack the excitement, performance and deprive the true enthusiast of what they really want. For example, OEM’s require us to design in resonators, not only are they ugly, but they also quiet the system, reduce performance and eliminate induction acoustics

    We know performance customers want to hear their performance as well as truly feel it - because we ourselves are also enthusiasts!

    The Next Chapter

    So, with all this pent-up passion and expertise we are planning on making a splash with a system that we feel is so unique yet pays homage to Detroit’s rich history and is obviously inspired by the great American Muscle that has been produced here in the USA, in Michigan, in Detroit for decades. We are in the final process of developing a true and literally “outside the box” system like no other for the 6.2L Chevy / GMC with OEM quality, aftermarket performance and the ability to customize your vehicle like no other system in the market today.
